Ok... not all that impressed so far.
Don't get me wrong- there's lots to like here: great characterization, snappy dialogue and banter... dare I even say witty repartee. But...
I got no real idea of what the heck's going on.
In a somewhat narcissitic preface Sullivan goes on about even though this is the beginning of a new series that does tie into his existing ones, it's a starting point so no reference is necessary.
This is so steeped in events that chronologically haven't even happened yet, you'll be like me and checking the glossary nearly every page to try and figure out what's happening. You'd need a Game of Thrones-esque infographic to keep track of it all. But it's a starting point.
